On the afternoon of September 21, Huawei Thailand, together with the Ministry of Digital Economy (MDES) of the Thai government and its subordinate Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA), successfully held the opening ceremony of the Thailand 5G Ecosystem Innovation Center (Thailand 5G Ecosystem Innovation Center) in Bangkok, thailand’s 5G Eco-Innovation Center (Thailand 5G EIC) was officially opened and the first 5G Innovation Center in ASEAN. The Minister of Thailand’s Digital Economy (MDES) delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of 5G EIC. The opening ceremony of Thailand’s 5G EIC was attended by the director of MDES, Chairman of DEPA, Permanent Secretaries of NBTC, Deng Feng of Huawei Thailand, Huawei Asia Pacific Xiao Zhendong, and the first batch of 5G EIC partners in Thailand (such as FIBO and Gravitech, HIP, universities (such as Jura University), consulting companies (such as TIMES and Roland Berger), industry customers (such as Siriraj Hospital), and 20+ news media outlets, with a total of 150+ onsite customers. Online guests include Huawei headquarters in Shenzhen and nine international ecosystem partners. In his opening speech, the Minister of MDES said: Thailand’s establishment of 5G EIC is an important milestone for Thailand. It shows that Thailand is ready to use 5G technologies to improve economic and social development and become the digital hub of ASEAN. Huawei is grateful for its great contribution to the development and ecosystem incubation of 5G technologies in Thailand, we hope to use the 5G EIC platform to help local SMEs innovate and stimulate their potential, apply 5G technologies to various industries in Thailand, and promote Thailand 4.0 strategic development and ICT transformation.
Purpose: Cooperate with the Thai government to incubate the 5G industry ecosystem and promote 5G 2B/2C industry applications in Thailand.
Functions: 5G ecosystem partner development, joint innovation and verification of industry cases, 5G talent cultivation, and joint brand promotion and release.
